Movement Classes
Vinyasa Voyage- Make this voyage your own! Vinyasa yoga is known for its dynamic, energetic, and creative approach to yoga practice, making it popular among those who enjoy movement-based workouts that also promote mindfulness and holistic well-being. Each class emphasizes linking movement with breath to create a continuous flow of poses. Vinyasa yoga help build strength, flexibility, and endurance. It can challenge both the body and mind, encouraging practitioners to explore their physical limits while cultivating mindfulness and presence.
Serene Stretch- Yin Yoga-Yin yoga is a gentle and introspective style of yoga that targets the deeper connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments, joints, bones, and fascia. Unlike more dynamic forms of yoga that focus on muscular engagement and movement, Yin yoga involves passive poses that are typically held for longer periods of time, ranging from 1 to 5 minutes or even longer. Poses in Yin yoga are usually performed seated or lying down. They are passive in nature, allowing gravity to deepen the stretch rather than muscular effort. Holding poses for longer durations requires practitioners to cultivate mindfulness. It often incorporates principles of mindfulness meditation, encouraging practitioners to observe sensations, thoughts, and emotions that arise during the practice. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Yin yoga is believed to stimulate the flow of energy (Qi) through the body's meridians, promoting overall health and vitality.
Gentle Yoga- New to yoga or simply want a refresher of basics? Gentle yoga will guide you through the fundamental principles and practices that form the basis of a yoga practice. It typically encompasses basic yoga poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and principles of alignment and mindfulness. Gentle yoga serves as a comprehensive introduction to yoga, providing everyone with essential tools to build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness while fostering a deeper connection to themselves and their practice. It forms the cornerstone for a lifelong journey of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through yoga.
Peaceful Restorative-Restorative yoga is a gentle and deeply relaxing style of yoga that focuses on rest and rejuvenation. It involves holding a series of passive poses for an extended period, typically ranging from 5 to 20 minutes or more. Unlike other forms of yoga that emphasize movement and strength, restorative yoga prioritizes comfort and relaxation.
In a restorative yoga class, props such as blankets, bolsters, pillows, and blocks are often used to support the body in various poses. These props help to create a comfortable and nurturing environment, allowing practitioners to fully relax into each posture without strain or effort.
